People sometimes ask me what my blog site is about. My answer is always the same. “Me”. I am under no illusions I write great prose. I don’t believe most of my posts are about anything interesting or noteworthy. In fact, most are crap. But that’s OK. Most of us don’t lead noteworthy or adventurous lives. I’m no different.
Wife: “I can’t believe that you spent $5000 on hearing aids and you never wear them!”
Me: “No. I spent $5000 to figure how that most people don’t say anything I need to hear…”
Took a long walk in the woods today. I have more faith in humanity after 30 minutes in nature than a month of Sundays in church. If you don’t believe me, believe the Bible (Psalms 96:12 – “Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them; let all the trees of the forest sing for joy.”) Can I get an “Amen”?
Recently I read a post that stated we all needed to “act” like Americans. The post insinuated if you didn’t stand for the national anthem; if you burned a flag or opposed Confederate monuments, you weren’t “acting” like an American.
I thought about that for a minute.
DACA “Dreamers” ARE fellow Americans; they are just not US citizens. Turning our backs on “Dreamers” is turning our backs on the ideals of our forefathers.
See the beauty in the simple things. When that happens we can comprehend all the wonders in our lives.
